Lectron App Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Dropcases Limited and its affiliates (“Lectron,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use the Lectron mobile application, web portals or pages that link to this Policy, connected Lectron EV chargers, smart meters, related firmware, support services, and other Lectron services that link to this Policy (collectively, the “Services”).

The Services help users set up and manage EV chargers and smart meters, view charging and energy data, configure charging schedules and electricity plans, receive alerts, share charger access with authorized users, submit feedback, and, where available, purchase products or installation services.

If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the Services.

2. Personal Information We Collect

The categories below describe the personal information we may collect, depending on how you use the Services.

We ask that you not provide sensitive personal information unless it is required for a specific feature or support request. Sensitive personal information may include precise geolocation, government identifiers, financial account information, or information about health, race, religion, or similar protected characteristics.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information:

Directly from you when you sign in, configure your account, add a device, choose an electricity plan, share a charger, submit feedback, contact support, or make a purchase.
Automatically from the App, connected chargers, smart meters, firmware, and backend systems when your devices are online or when you use the Services.
From third parties, such as Apple, Google, payment processors, app stores, installers, utilities, grid-services providers, customer support tools, analytics providers, shipping providers, or marketing partners, where permitted by law and consistent with this Policy.
From other users when an account owner invites you to use a charger or grants you access to a device.

4. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your Lectron account.
Provide the Services, including charger control, device setup, device binding, device sharing, smart meter pairing, scheduling, charging history, electricity plan configuration, firmware updates, diagnostics, alerts, and support.
Display energy, charging, cost, solar, carbon, and savings estimates.
Enable smart charging features such as off-peak charging, surplus solar charging, intelligent load balancing, power sharing, and Storm Watch.
Detect, investigate, and resolve device, app, account, network, safety, security, or fraud issues.
Send service communications, including account notices, firmware notices, security notices, charging alerts, support responses, and policy updates.
Send marketing communications where permitted by law and in accordance with your preferences.
Process orders, returns, warranties, payments, promotions, installation requests, and related transactions.
Improve, test, and develop products, firmware, analytics, and services.
Create aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized data and insights.
Comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and protect the rights, safety, and security of Lectron, users, installers, partners, and the public.

We may use your personal information to send you product announcements, software updates, promotional offers, surveys, and other marketing communications where permitted by applicable law. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in those emails.

5. Smart Energy, Utility, and Grid Programs

Some current or future Services may involve electric utilities, energy partners, installers, managed-charging programs, demand-response programs, rebates, incentives, or grid-services programs.

We will not enroll you in a utility, rebate, demand-response, managed-charging, or grid-services program without required authorization. If you choose to participate, we may collect, receive, use, or disclose information needed to administer the program, such as account information, device identifiers, site information, utility or service territory, charging sessions, energy usage, device status, event participation, and incentive eligibility.

Third-party utilities, installers, aggregators, and energy partners may process your information under their own privacy policies and agreements. You should review those policies before participating.

6. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to:

Service providers and processors that host data, provide cloud infrastructure, analytics, crash reporting, authentication, customer support, communications, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, payment processing, shipping, or business operations.
Affiliates and corporate group companies for the purposes described in this Policy.
Installers, electricians, distributors, retailers, or warranty partners where needed to provide installation, support, warranty, fulfillment, product registration, or troubleshooting services.
Utilities, energy partners, grid-services providers, rebate administrators, or program sponsors when you participate in or request a related program.
Payment processors, app stores, financing providers, shipping providers, and commerce partners when you purchase products or services.
Other users you authorize, such as shared charger users or account members, who may see device name, charger status, charging availability, or other information necessary to use the shared device.
Professional advisors, insurers, auditors, legal counsel, and compliance providers.
Government authorities, law enforcement, courts, regulators, or other parties when required by law or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or legal interests.
Parties involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction.

We may disclose aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you, subject to appropriate safeguards and applicable law.

7. Sale, Sharing, Targeted Advertising, and Sensitive Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We also do not knowingly sell or share personal information of users under 16 years old.

For purposes of U.S. state privacy laws, some online analytics or advertising activities may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” even when no money is exchanged. If Lectron uses such technologies on a website, web portal, or in the App, we will provide required notices and opt-out choices.

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than permitted purposes, such as providing requested Services, ensuring security and integrity, troubleshooting, account authentication, or legal compliance, unless we provide required notices and choices.

8. Your Choices

You may have the following choices:

Account information: update certain profile information in the App.
Device permissions: manage Bluetooth, local network, location, camera, photos, and push notification permissions through your mobile operating system.
Marketing: You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link included in our marketing emails or by contacting us.
Push notifications: disable non-essential push notifications in your device settings or App settings where available.
Location: disable precise location permissions in your mobile device settings. Some features may not work without location-related information.
Utility and energy programs: withdraw from optional programs as described in the relevant program terms.
Shared users: account owners may add or remove shared access where supported.
Device data controls: use available App controls such as Clear Data, Remove from Account, or Delete Account, subject to safety, warranty, fraud-prevention, legal, and operational retention requirements.
Universal opt-out signals: where required by law and technically feasible, Lectron web surfaces will honor recognized browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, for applicable sale, sharing, or targeted advertising choices.

9. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

Know or confirm whether we process personal information about you.
Access personal information we maintain about you.
Delete personal information.
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Receive a portable copy of certain personal information.
Opt out of the sale of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, or targeted advertising.
Opt out of certain profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information where required by law.
Appeal our decision if we deny a privacy request.
Be free from discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

To exercise privacy rights, contact us at contact@lectron.com. We may need to verify your identity and account relationship before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization and may also require you to verify your identity directly.

If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email or contacting contact@lectron.com with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.”

If we offer a financial incentive, loyalty program, rebate, discount, or similar benefit that is considered a “financial incentive” or “bona fide loyalty program” under applicable privacy law, we will provide any required notice and obtain any required consent before you participate.

10. California Notice at Collection

This section applies to California residents and is intended to provide a notice at collection under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”).

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide Services, maintain accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect security, support warranty obligations, and maintain business records. Retention periods vary based on the type of information, the user relationship, device lifecycle, legal requirements, and operational needs.

11. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account unless a parent or legal guardian lawfully consents and manages the account. 12. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. These safeguards may include access controls, encryption in transit, monitoring, authentication controls, logging, and security review of connected-device systems. No system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining control of your mobile device, App access, OAuth account, shared-user permissions, home network, and physical access to connected devices.

13. International Transfers

We may process and store personal information in the United States and other countries where we, our affiliates, or service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

14. Third-Party Services

The Services may link to or integrate with third-party services, such as Apple, Google, app stores, payment processors, utilities, installers, weather providers, analytics providers, customer support tools, or commerce partners. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law, such as by posting the updated Policy, updating the effective date, sending an email, or providing an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date means the updated Policy applies to your use of the Services.
